COMMENTS FROM PRODUCING ARTISTIC DIRECTORS

"BURT & ME at Gretna was a COMPLETE HIT with our audiences.  With the highest average attendance of any production of our season, it was by far the most profitable as well!  What makes this 'jukebox musical' really sing is the funny, touching, sweetly romantic book.  Given our audience's reaction to it, BURT & ME is a 'fail-safe' show!" Larry Frenock, Producing Artistic Director, Gretna Theatre, PA

“Hackmatack Playhouse found BURT & ME  to be the perfect answer to any summer doldrums.  The show is full of love and light and lingering melodies of Burt  Bacharach and Hal David.  The audience leaves with a smile, a tune and good feelings all around.  The show is a winner, and a secret weapon to any scheduling situation!”    Michael Guptill, Artistic Director, Hackmatack Playhouse, ME

"Society HIll Playhouse had the pleasure of presenting Larry McKenna's production of BURT & ME. The audiences were DELIGHTED by the piece.  It is a wonderful show and perfect summer theatre fare.  BURT & ME is a real crowd pleaser that appeals to all ages."                       Deen Kogan, Producing Artistic Director, Society Hill Playhouse, PA

“A fabulous show!  It left the audience warm in the glow of familiar music for the entire family.  Reinforces what a musical should be.  Love wins out for the actors and audience.  I was sad to see it end.” Bill Felts, Exec. Director, Deertrees Theatre, ME

"This production is one of which we are very proud and exceeded all of our expectations. "  Bud Martin, Producing Artistic Director, Act II Playhouse, PA

BURT & ME was the by far the biggest money maker…well surpassed its goal and had an incredible 99% capacity.”  End of the season board minutes, Act II Playhouse, PA
